Tysons, VA (November 11, 2022) --- Award-winning singer and songwriter Bertie Higgins will release, “A Christmas Card,” an album of Christmas classics along with a new song just in time for the holiday season. Beginning November 11, the 15 tracks will be available on all major streaming services via StarVista Retail with Higgins bringing his self-described Trop Rock flair to iconic Christmas songs like “Winter Wonderland,” “Deck the Halls,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and more.
“’A Christmas Card’ was written by a good friend of mine, Michael Dyche,” explains Higgins. “I rarely do songs by other writers but this is such a powerful and emotional song that, as soon as I heard it for the very first time, I knew I had to record it. It touches the heart and brings tears to our eyes. It could be – and should be – a holiday standard.”
Bertie Higgins has released 27 albums throughout his career and is known for his breezy, romantic songs wrapped in tropical and classic cinematic themes. He hit number one on the adult contemporary chart with his signature song, “Key Largo,” in 1982 and has remained immensely popular throughout the world ever since. Higgins has been inducted into the Florida Artist Hall of Fame (alongside Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams), has received the Mozart Music Award, the Beethoven Award, an International Acoustic Award and an honorary PhD from Hanover University in Germany. In 2017, he was knighted and is a Knight Grand Cross of the Imperial Order of Culture and Peace. His songs have been featured in film and television, including Kristen Wiig’s “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” and Matthew McConaughey’s “Beach Bum.” Earlier this year, Higgins and StarVista Retail teamed up to release four compilation albums, as well as “Pirates and Poets,” making it available for streaming for the first time since its original release in 1983.
